What Kind of Problem?
Urinary Incontinence
Tract Infections
Fallen Bladders
Post Prostatectomy Issues
Bladder Prolapses. . . .

I don’t think we’ve done a book review yet. But after about 2 chapters into this one, I thought we definitely need to do a “The Bathroom Key” book review. This is the first book I’ve come across that really went straight to my heart.
You know immediately that the author is in tune with what we’re experiencing.
From the opening story of the young lady at her 10th High School reunion I was sucked in. She’s out on the dance floor and she feels a little trickle into her pad, then a couple more. Agony. She goes to the bathroom to change her pad and rushes back out to the dance floor. And then just a short time later she finds that her pad is completely soaked. She doesn’t have another and is forced to stand the rest of the evening not dancing, or laughing. . . Just feeling embarrassed and insecure. Read the rest of this entry »

So there’s only one important thing to do when starting a pelvic floor exercises (for men) routine. You’ve got to be exercising the right muscle. Without that, you’re just doing exercise that may or may not help anything.
So, the correct muscle is the one you use to stop the flow of urination. Next time you’re in the bathroom, try and stop the flow to get a sense of what muscles we’re talking about. Don’t stop it too many times though – once is probably good. Read the rest of this entry »

In a 20 week study by Midway Hospital in Minnesota, pelvic floor electrical stimulation was shown to improve the severity and conditions of both urge and mixed incontinence. What’s even better is that the study showed that it didn’t matter whether you did it every day or a couple times per week.
That study was in 1997, which is great because it took that long for the FDA to approve an at home electrical stimulation machine. On March 14th, 2012 the FDA approved the InTone Device to treat female urinary incontinence. Read the rest of this entry »

There are really two distinct reasons people search for male kegel exercises. The most commonly searched reason is to increase a man’s ability to control ejaculation. And the other reason is to control the flow of urine.
The good news is – it’s the same muscle.
The muscle that needs a little strengthening is called the pubococcygeus muscle. These PC muscles are responsible for quite a few things. They help to control urine flow, erection hardness, and ejaculation strength. A few easy exercises and all three will improve. Read the rest of this entry »

Searching for male incontinence pads must mean you’re leaking urine. There are many reasons why men leak urine, some temporary and some long term. Knowing whether you have a temporary condition or one that will require more time to fix will definitely help you in choosing male incontinence pads.
Another critical factor is the volume of urine leaked. Are we talking about a few drips or something that requires quite a bit of absorbency?

The idea of kegel weights may seem odd, some might even say unsanitary. People who haven’t used them even wonder if they’re comfortable. But millions of women find life-long relief after using kegel weights.
Should you use kegel weights
The #1 reason they’re fantastic – focus! Doing kegel exercises requires that you exercise the right muscle. And that’s not easy without good feedback. With kegel weights you have no choice but to squeeze the right muscle. Without that, the weights fall.

While most people would never be caught on camera talking about this, it really is as normal as the common cold. Muscles get weak over time – the problem is the kegel muscles control the urine flow. Strengthen the muscle and the problem goes away.
